Clary sage is just awesome. While it may not be everyone’s cup of tea with regards to what it smells like (it took me a while to get used to it), it absolutely is the daddy when it comes to resetting your hormones. Us ladies, never seem to be in balance. One minute we’re super happy and excited about what’s coming up and the next minute oh my days it feels as though there is not enough serotonin (the happy hormone) on the planet to even get us to crack a smile. I saw a great video on Facebook over the weekend depicting the monthly cycle of madness and nothing has ever rang truer! Are we ever in control? Now, the real problem is that you don’t even know it’s happening half the time and therefore, its exceedingly difficult to even do anything about it. You may not even realise that you are feeling particularly rubbish because you’re so focused on getting out of bed, walking the dogs, clearing up the mess that’s accumulated, going to work, sorting out the kids, making the dinner… The list is endless. Most often, you just feel off for a few days. But like everything left hanging this very quickly builds up and then its game over. You may do something like drop a cup and even if it doesn’t smash into a million little pieces it’s still the end of the world. Now, you’re sat in the middle of the kitchen floor crying your eyes out and just can’t seem to stop. There’s no rhyme or reason it’s just happening. Those pesky hormones...Well, there is absolutely both rhyme and reason – it’s your hormones. During the month your hormones do crazy things to make sure your body is in prime position for baby making. Even if you never want children, have had enough children or are not yet ready for children – your body does not care about trivial things like that. Until you have been through the menopause (which is a whole other bunch of craziness) your body will mess with your hormones nonstop. Now, there are a few days when you feel awesome, super sexy and like you could run up mount Everest – these coincidentally are the most fertile if you are trying to get yourself up the duff (if you don’t want babies at the moment this is the time to slap on those granny pants and keep yourself firmly locked up). However, this is for 3-4 days out of the 28. So, as you can see leaving it up to nature to feel great is just rubbish. Who wants to feel awesome for just 3-4 days? Not me! I’ll take every day that I can please and this is where clary sage comes in. Now, what’s really cool, is that just a couple of drops of clary sage on your pulse points (behind ears, back of neck and on your wrists) every couple of hours can help you maintain a normal level of chirpiness. Can you imagine feeling normal every day?For me, it’s like heaven is right here on earth. I mean who would of thought a couple of drops of oil from a plant would be so awesome? Trust me it really is. Like every oil though clary sage may not be the one for you – because we just don’t have the same DNA. That’s cool though because ylang ylang is also a hormone balancer so if you have no luck with one have a go with the other one! Remember, unlike synthetic medications or products there are no side effects of testing out the oils. It will still be doing good in your body. The other thing to remember is that you don’t have to wait 7-10 days to work out it’s no use. You’ll know in a couple of hours so switch it up the very same day! Have a great day & happy balancing!
